A giant red balloon dog completely fills the main street. A sign beside that points to local restaurants. A clock tower points to the sky, several streets down. Behind me and invisible to you are the food trucks. Also behind me and mercifully, not audible are the heavy metal cover bands playing on the stage in front of City Hall. The central figure is definitely the bright red balloon dog, which is more than two storeys high. It brings out the kid in me.

From underneath the yellow umbrella of Balzac’s Coffee, we see the prosaically named 1 Victoria, one of the central buildings of downtown Kitchener. Like many modern buildings, it features more glass than solid wallls. I have to admit that I envy the residents because I don’t have much light in my own tiny flat. To the left of the building, you can see the Pharmacy building of the University of Waterloo.
Pharmacy building of the University of Waterloo has always stood out because of the floral panels used in its construction. In this picture, we see it from the western side. The floral panels have flowers and greens. It is a unique building.

We had a fantastic "earth day" at 544 Bridgeport yesterday. Tenants pitched-in to help build new raised beds. Many hands made light work. Thank you as well to the City of Kitchener for the #lovemyhood funds to make this possible.
