A photo of 3 mantids facing seperate directions on different fingers of a hand. One mantis is the usual grassy green coloration, the middle one is more a dry grass brown with green on the four hind legs, and the rightmost mantis is more of a yellow-brown with striking reddish eyes and similarly green hind legs.
Close-up on a mantis sporting a mostly tan/brown coloration with subtle darker stripes on the forearms, even darker speckles throughout, and green hind legs.
Close-up of a mantis with grass-green coloration, save for a tinge of light brown on the dorsal side of the thorax. Some remnants hang from its mouth, from a recent grooming of its antennae.
Close-up of a mantis mid-antenna-grooming, with mostly tan/brown coloration with dark stripes on the forelegs, green hind legs, wine-red eyes, and just a hint of blue on the tip of the labrum.
Hanging with the gang!
A group of what I think might be Carolina Mantids (S. Carolina[?]) hunting some easy meals under the porch light.
There should be a name for a gathering of mantids, like kaleidoscope for butterflies.
What should it be?
A sermon, maybe?
