Black and white photograph showing a dramatic, close up, upward angled view of a church roof. The roof is corrugated iron with three pointed dormers, topped by a stone cross silhouette against a heavily clouded sky. The texture of the stone wall is visible below the roofline.
Under the tin roof, the weight of history rests beneath the cross.

The sun was setting behind my house. It made the clouds look pale orange, and the sky periwinkle blue. The trees on the left side of the picture look black, as does the first and second floor roofs of the house in the lower right-hand corner.

A dramatic black and white photograph, shot from a low angle, focusing on the steep gable and roof of a historic brick house in Queenstown. The house features decorative scalloped shingles on the gable face, a small lattice window, and a prominent cluster of brick chimneys against a bright, cloudy, and moody sky. The high contrast emphasises the texture of the brickwork and the metal roof.

An angled roofline cuts sharply across a stone-and-brick façade, its layered clay tiles echoing medieval European craftsmanship. The composition emphasizes strong geometric lines—diagonal edges, rectangular vents, and horizontal masonry courses—each contributing to the building’s aged but deliberate structure. This architectural detail highlights the tension between organic stonework and the rigid symmetry of historical construction, making it a compelling study in architectural lines, texture, and pattern. Captured for the BlueSky art show theme of “lines,” this image explores visual rhythm through architecture photography, stonework, and old-world design.
OK, one more for the blue sky art show who knows, it’s kind of interesting

A jagged grey/white concrete roofline against a light blue sky. Post processing of the picture has added an etereal light around the edge of the roof.
The original of this was badly exposed, so tried to correct with processing, which introduced the strange etereal glow along the roofline. Happy mistakes.

My street is directly under a STAR for approach to Hyannis Airport. Sometimes the smaller 3/4 passenger planes fly in a bit lower then usual. Which is a bit jarring for me. Like what happened just now.
