I always remember what Shaun Tan said at his #scbwisummer25 keynote yrs back, advising creatives to do what they can to create a "Bubble Of Delusion" in which they are able to do their best work & at least temporarily convince themselves their work is GOOD. 😁

Made a mini scrap sketchbook of “cheap” scrap paper
8 page fold technique used to make simple carefree sketch pages
First thing I did after the intensive at #scbwisummer25 finished was go make this simple sketch book-little 8 page fold. My illustration improved in 2 sketches yesterday and I felt liberated. I like sketch books for creating concepts and ideas but for final drawings I’ll never go back. Thank-You 😊

So happy to hear that our advice at #scbwisummer25 helped, Nicole! I do find that scrap paper sketching liberating (rather than using expensive "good" paper).
I learned so much from Zachariah Ohora and Cece Bell during that Illustrator Intensive!
