#Serpentinite: the #rock that looks like it slithered out of #MiddleEarth. Formed deep in #Earth’s #mantle, all greenish shimmer and smooth #textures. It’s basically #geology’s way of saying: ‘Yes, I lift and I moisturize.’
Orthoamphibole + olivine contact metamorphosed serpentinite
Ophelia was a #peridotite, but the evil opening of the Atlantic turned her into a #serpentinite. She wandered endlessly in the geological time until she met the #granite. The granite, moved by her story, transformed her into peridotite again but with #amphibole, to remember her hydrous past. ⚒️❤️
