#MarchWorldbuilders Day 8:

There are a few domesticated animals that are fairly common in #shuunkuu. Dogs are the most common since they are often used as herd guardians or hunting companions, and there are quite a few cat breeds favored by the upper class in the cities.

#MarchWorldbuilders Day 4:

I have talked about wisteria in #shuunkuu, but it has a particular connotation in #phori. There's the term, Ze᷈ribe (shortened from Ze᷈ribeta), which literally means 'wisteria-like'. However, it has come to signify someone who is clingy or dependent on another person...

#Marchistics Day 2:

While there are many kinds of materials (and materiel) that are traded between the three nations of #shuunkuu, the most important one is their currency. Despite using separate currencies in the past, Ustar and Eisui standardized them under imperial rule...

#MarchWorldbuilders Day 2:

There are two kinds of native wisteria in #shuunkuu. The first grows in and around Verim, usually exhibiting pale pink flowers during a full moon. Thus, this variant is known as "moonblush" wisteria among those within the Empire.

Furthermore, the existence of the Verim Reserve allows them to better regulate the economies within #shuunkuu, as well as allow for their commercial and economic efforts to easily transition through whichever currency is required, whether domestic or otherworldly.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 27:

Beyond Sever serving the Empire both domestically and across worlds, the nitty-gritty of the governments of #shuunkuu do not really play into much of the narrative. Even Sever's usurping of his own father in Book 3 is more of a personal matter than a political one.

While the Empire still maintains units, both personal and spacecraft, tailored to magic use, those conditioned for psionic use remain among the most formidable in their arsenal even to this day.

#Febchantment Day 27:

Due to the duality of magic and psionics existing in #shuunkuu, there has been a lot of technology originally developed for magic users, whether domestically or discovered during the Reality War, that has been adapted for psionic resonance.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 26:

The three main nations in #shuunkuu are fairly stable currently despite some...hiccups in the past. There are some factions that are unhappy with the leadership in each, of course, but they lack enough support to be much of a threat.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 25:

Generally the three nations of #shuunkuu are fairly amicable to one another in the modern day. While both Ustar and Eisui were temporarily annexed to unify the world under the Golden Star banner during the Reality War...

That said, the list may grow as I define more prominent characters in my narrative.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 20:

Putting the can of worms that is religion in #shuunkuu aside for now, the simple answer is...aside from Sever and/or Shizuka (who I mentioned yesterday), not really? Generally the laws are written for and by the mortals with little divine oversight.

Generally, the laws of #shuunkuu differ depending on the region. For the Golden Star Empire, there is generally a group of magistrates serving under Aurelius who would help to draft the laws within imperial lands. However, following Sever's ascension to Sentinel...

Since it is Valentines' Day (or Sweethearts' Day/Amegi᷈ẓ Kūð in #phori), I think it would be worth bringing up this thread I did back for Lexember regarding gift-giving in #shuunkuu.

(I should also note that much of 'Book 1' takes place in somewhat modern Japan rather than #shuunkuu, and the Reality War occurs in 'Book 2'. I have quite a bit of meta-narrative and timeline stuff hammered out, but still need to draft it out...)

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 14:

The Reality War distorted the leylines in #shuunkuu ever so slightly, causing it to experience a degree of time dilation compared to most other worlds. While travel beyond the stars and to other worlds often account for this...

So I found this a few days ago on the Inkarnate subreddit, and I have to wonder about the GSE... I guess Aurem is technically the capital while Verim would be a city. That said, I am lacking in defined towns/villages, which would probably be mostly in the Goldenrod Fields.

#Febchantment Day 11:

Magic in #shuunkuu is often limited to how much power one can negotiate from the world around them. Overstepping or failure to respect the source of their power can, at best, cause an incantation or prayer to go unanswered, and at worse, backfire on the caster themselves.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 11:

Free will is a large facet of Phori belief in particular, and it is generally understood within the Empire that fate is malleable and dynamic. While the Sentinels were originally meant to preserve this in #shuunkuu, the advent of the Reality War...

#Febchantment Day 10:

Magic in #shuunkuu, being invocative by nature, often require either somatic components (usually channeling through their hands or a focus), verbal components (chant, prayer, incantation, etc.), or sometimes a combination of both.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Day 10:

I think I have established that Psionics are somewhat prevalent in #shuunkuu, albeit not as diverse and accessible as magic tends to be for reasons I have somewhat outlined in other posts. Nonetheless, this has influenced not only their technology...
