Voici une photo en contre-plongée, plein cadre, de la Tour Montparnasse, prise directement d'en bas à l'avenue du Maine à Paris. Construit entre 1969 et 1973, ce gratte-ciel de bureaux de 210 mètres de haut et 59 étages demeure le plus haut bâtiment de Paris. L'édifice est principalement recouvert de vitres disposées en grille. Le verre reflète le ciel et l'environnement, lui conférant un aspect légèrement translucide et chatoyant. Les couleurs dominantes sont des tons froids de bleu et de vert, provenant des reflets du verre, contrastant avec le beige sable chaud de deux éléments structurels verticaux proéminents qui s'élèvent au centre du bâtiment. Ces éléments beiges, de section cylindrique ou rectangulaire arrondie, sont placés au point le plus profond de la façade, créant ainsi une impression de profondeur. La composition souligne l'immense hauteur et la verticalité du gratte-ciel. Le point de vue, pris directement d'en bas, donne l'impression que le bâtiment s'étire à l'infini vers le haut, son sommet disparaissant hors du cadre. La distorsion de perspective accentue encore l'échelle du bâtiment. Ce dernier semble divisé en sections par des bandes horizontales sombres qui parcourent la façade à intervalles réguliers, évoquant peut-être des étages ou des divisions structurelles. À travers les panneaux de verre, on distingue par endroits une faible lumière intérieure ou des structures, suggérant que le bâtiment est occupé. Le ciel est d'un blanc éclatant, signe d'une journée nuageuse. L'impression générale est celle d'une architecture géométrique épurée et d'une échelle imposante.
