I would have enjoyed it as a little extra episode like we had tgat with #TheDouble or #StoryOfKunningPalace. I would have preferred to close ep40 with the "actual people"...
It is not on Netflix I believe so for Netflix cdrama recs I would say #TheDouble was great or #ThePrincessRoyal (but understand if you don't feel like watching #ZhangLingHe in something else so soon) #TheUntamed is a classic. If you watched/liked FirstFrost did you see #HiddenLove which is a GEM?
The cinematography really stands out in comparison to something like #TheDouble (which is jaw-dropping gorgeous) where it subtly distracted from the plot. Not complaining, but PoJ managed to use dramatic and beautiful tight shots that contributed to intimacy between viewer and character. Impeccable.
Every year i watch number of #cdramas and drop them without finishing a single one sometime until there comes one that completely consumes me and makes me obsessed… few yrs back it was #lovebetweenfairyanddevil , then it was #TheDouble and this yr it’s #PursuitOfJade … all visually stunning epics

I've just gone back to the beginning & watching all over again while waiting. Amazed at all the little things I missed along the way. This is a very rewatchable series along with #LoveLiketheGalaxy, #PrisonerofBeauty and #TheDouble.

Ive been musing on the deaths a bit too… the show is pretty okay with killing off characters, which was a little jarring, but their deaths all felt weighty and not like they were just being thrown away (cough* #TheDouble *cough) which i appreciated
I skipped ahead on #TheDouble last night and remembered why I did it the last time. They killed off all my favorite side characters and really rushed the ending. It starts well, but there's about 10-15 episodes of random side quests we don't need.

For those who don't watch #Cdramas and don't know... #TheDouble starts with the main character getting murdered by her husband's family. Poorly.
They try to kill her. Fail. Her husband tries to bury her. Thinks he succeeded, and she manages to survive.
Then she gets a chance for revenge...
My current form of self-care is binge watching #TheDouble which... yeah... I'm not sure this is actually lowering my stress levels in any measurable way, but revenge is delightful.

Yes - I guess I’m saying I’d like to see more characters like Xie Wei, but where we are introduced early to his reasoning processes, a bit like the FLs in #TheDouble & #TheGlory, so we can support his ruthlessness (tbh, I’ve forgotten much of SOKP, so I don’t recall when his backstory was set out)

For those who don’t know, this cdrama, #GenerationToGeneration, is directed by Lu Haojiji - directer of #TheDouble, #MoonlitReunion & forthcoming #Rebirth (aka #PrincessAgents2) - so we know it will have lovely cinematography, vivid characters & dynamic action 🙂

Yes! - I’ve loved seeing her in supporting roles (she’s in #PerfectMatch & #TheDouble too), but I’m glad she’s slated to appear in some upcoming main roles

Ooooh. So many great C-dramas to choose from when you’re starting out. For a first-time historical/costume one, I’d maybe suggest #NewLifeBegins (sisterhood and a nice time) and/or #TheDouble (fun gothic revenge thrills). Both have good production, acting, etc and are pretty accessible for newbies.
