Watched #TrainDreams (2025) on Netflix last night; a haunting, poignant look at an anonymous lumberjack in early to mid 20th century America. Terribly sad at times, but with stretches of contentment and sparks of joy. Like life itself, really. Unforgettable. #JoelEdgerton is magnificent.

I also thought #JESSEPLEMONS deserved to be nominated for BEST ACTOR for #BUGONIA but also felt likewise about #JOELEDGERTON as the laconic lumberjack in #TRAINDREAMS. However, I correctly predicted MBJ would win but if I had my druthers, out of the Chosen Five, I would have voted for #ETHANHAWKE.
Just noting before its all forgotten that for me, Oscar-nominated #TrainDreams was about deforestation...
True story. My grandfather was a logger in northern Wisconsin in the early 20th c. He built a cabin, married, became a farmer, and was killed by a tree in 1933 leaving 9 family members behind. The movie Train Dreams is a documentary.
