Closed-wing photo of a Clouded Yellow feeding while hiding in the grasses
I found a Clouded Yellow butterfly on my patch today! Does anyone know their status in Yorkshire? I can only find that 'most years see one or two reports'. It seems like it's a good year for them if that's the case.

Poplar Hawkmoth
The star of the moth trap this morning - not one but two Poplar Hawkmoths! A species that I knew would eventually turn up and I am very pleased it did. Otherwise 61/21 species with Spectacle & Ancylis badiana NFG.

Pale Prominent moth
The last of the mist on the patch
Had an impressive Pale Prominent in the moth trap this morning, and then went birding on a mist-covered patch. Had a high count of 230 Greylags, a few Canada Geese, 40 Barn Swallows resting, and a couple of Common Terns too.
