Yeah I was a bit misleading. I always forget the common tag for Gatineau ( #VeloGat?) so just use the Ottawa one. It is along Boulevard des Allumettières in the Plateau.

The boardwalk under the Pont Macdonald-Cartier Bridge was recently re-opened after years of closure, but I'd say it's a bit premature and in desperate need of repair: two planks have already broken, leaving dangerous gaps if you're approaching at speed or in the dark. #ottbike #velogat

I'm fuming at NCC's decision to remove concrete barriers protecting bikers on the Champlain for flexiposts. I would take my kids across last year, but bendy-straws are not going to save them, so no way we're going on there this year.

The headwind from seemingly every direction was demoralizing, and the cross wind on the Chief William Commanda Bridge was actually scary. I only make it up to P3 today.
The western pathway off the bridge is open though! But it's a lot of gravel. Not *too* loose, still not great.

Attention #ottbike / #velogat, there is a pretty loose/rough gravel zone this year on the Voyageurs MUP just east of the Chief William Commanda Bridge (Gatineau side). Something to watch out for if your tires aren't suitable (or an excuse to try gravel cycling!). (Video muted for tandem bike convo).

Last year we had a crazy early snow melt in the middle of April; this year we've beaten that by a month. Made it 8km into Gatineau Park today before being stopped by snow. A few more warm days and it will all be gone. #ottbike #velogat
