Sending ❤️ on Mother’s Day to all the Mums who are advocating knee deep in exhaustion, making tough choices everyday - without the systems and resources required - often even without the basics from others - empathy and #kindness
You ARE doing your best.

Two contrasting images illustrating changes in health and physical ability. The top image shows a hiker from behind walking along a forest trail while carrying a large backpack with camping gear attached. Overlaid text reads: “Hiking the John Muir Trail for 7 days with a 50lb+ pack at elevation 10k–12k feet.” The setting is a sunny woodland area with trees, rocks, and a small stream. The bottom image shows a person lying on the floor at work with their legs resting on a fluffy white chair, wearing burgundy trousers and sandals, in an office space with shelves and equipment nearby. Overlaid text reads: “Laying on the floor at work to get my HR down, so I can complete 2 hours of work

The theme for International Long Covid Awareness Month is Every Heartbeat Counts, highlighting how Covid can affect heart health. We're sharing some information from our friends at @PoTSUKCharity, who support people with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome.

Long Covid Families is proud to have successfully advocated for the inclusion of children in pediatric Long COVID clinical trials.
Children cannot be left out of treatment research. Including them from the start leads to faster, more effective, and more equitable care.
I've been debating posting this all day, but here goes. It's ironic that #LongCovidAwarenessDay falls on Mother's Day this year. #LongCovid has likely taken away any chance of me having a child. Thinking of anyone grieving that today, I see you 🫶
Side-by-side image. On the left, a woman with dark curly hair exercises outdoors wearing a blue-grey crop top and grey leggings. She holds a small weight in each hand, lifting one with her right arm bent at the elbow while her left arm rests by her side. She stands next to a white wall, with exposed brick and red railings behind her. On the right, a partially completed crocheted piece in purple, blue, and cream is draped over a black mannequin. The chunky yarn forms textured horizontal stripes, with a peach-coloured crochet hook still attached to the working yarn. Loose strands hang from the piece, and a tiled wall is visible in the background.

Side by side image. On the left a person wearing a red ski jacket, black helmet, and goggles stands on skis at the top of a snowy mountain slope with their arms raised, holding ski poles. Snow-covered mountains stretch across the background under dramatic clouds with sunlight illuminating the peaks. On the right a woman with blonde hair tied back, wearing sunglasses, a pink cardigan, blue cropped trousers sits on a mobility scooter. Her hands are holding the handlebars. There are grey railings, trees and water in the background.

Side-by-side images showing outdoor scenery and a painting activity. On the left, a person with curly hair walks down a grassy hillside path with a black dog on a lead, overlooking a wide green valley with fields, trees, and scattered buildings in the distance. They wear dark clothing with a red jacket tied around their waist. On the right, a tabletop art setup shows a small watercolour palette, a mixing tray with diluted paint, cups of water, and a sheet of paper with a finished watercolour painting of a sailboat on calm water at sunset, with warm orange light reflecting across the waves and distant hills on the horizon.

A moving short film from Long COVID Physio. So grateful to all the people who give their time for free to help the millions of us living with Long Covid.
Before infection, our members chose how to use each heartbeat.
Now #LongCovid limits what each beat can be used for.

Collage graphic, including a portrait of UK Work and Pensions Minister Sir Stephen Timms, a photo of Sheffield Hallam University’s campus, and a photo of advocates from Not Recovered UK raising awareness about ME and Long COVID. The collage also includes screenshots of web pages about disability benefits. The text reads, “The Sick Times. Left without care: Many Long COVID clinics are closing down in the U.K. By Hannah Buttle.”
“How are you meant to live? You’re not able to work because you’re sick, you’re not being offered any healthcare to get better, and you’re scared about losing the benefits that help you survive.” - Karen Hargrave, Co-founder of the #ThereForMe Campaign
The U.K. government set aside funding for #LongCOVID clinics in 2020, but funding is now up to local health boards. Fewer than half of Long COVID clinics will remain open across the U.K. through this year. Read more from @han-written.bsky.social: bit.ly/4eR6f4a

Suzanne O‘Sullivan describes POTS as ‚a condition where change of posture provokes a fall in blood pressure that causes fainting or dizziness‘. She is wrong. In POTS, change of posture causes tachycardia without a drop in BP. She has not even bothered to inform herself about that!

On #LongCovidAwarenessDay I want to draw attention to the fact that many people are still living with the effects of Covid, and they often struggle to get the support they need. Government must do much more on research, support, and prevention.

Today our family supports Long Covid Awareness Day. Long Covid has changed family life beyond recognition. My wife and son have been living with Long Covid for almost 5 years since covid came into our home in April 2020. Since then we have been desperately searching for a cure.

4 yrs & 11 months ago my career as a clinical physiotherapist was ended by catching covid.
23 years of clinical experience & dedication lost- just like that.
How many more people have to have their lives turned upside down like this?

A teal gradient background fades into black at the edges. White text in an serif font reads: Today, we honour Ondine. Every post we share this Long Covid Awareness Day is dedicated to our co-founder, friend, inspiration, and relentless advocate, Ondine Sherwood. Her passion, determination, and unwavering fight for recognition and support have left an indelible mark on the Long Covid community. Without her, Long Covid would be far less recognised. Without her, countless people would not have found the solidarity, hope, and strength they needed. And without her, our world feels immeasurably smaller. We miss you Ondine, so very much. Today, and always, we continue her fight. For Ondine. For all of us. In the bottom right corner, the Long Covid SOS logo appears in white.
Today, we honour Ondine.

Today Saturday 15 March 2025 is #LongCovidAwarenessDay. Today, people living with Long Covid and allies come together to raise awareness about Long Covid
For some of us, the Day has already started, depending on the time zone. Seeing already the first advocacy initiatives ongoing, like in Australia!
