Been abroad for a few weeks. Surprised that it still feels so mild. Think this was a Tasgius Morsitans (Rove beetle) on the path today.
Wasn't sure what this was on the front door today. Irecord says it's a Western Conifer Seed Bug- Leptoglossus occidentalis. Must be an early instar. I have previously seen adults in the garden.

Not many insects on my walk today as most of the flowers have gone over but spotted this Yellow-sided clover sawfly - Tenthredo notha. Difficult to get a photo due to the stiff breeze.
Emptying a few pots in the garden today when I came across this Turnip moth - Agrotis segetum in the bottom.

Spotted a solitary wasp on Eryngium at my daughter's. iRecord suggests Gorytes laticinctus, but Nottingham seems to be at the northern edge of it's range. Can anyone confirm the id please?

Had a Migrant Hawker on a bamboo cane in the garden this morning and spotted a Canestrini's harvestman a Turnip sawfly and Alfalfa plant bugs as I was doing a butterfly count this afternoon.

Went around a few open gardens today in the heat. Walking past a bee hotel in one when I spotted this Javelin wasp. I have been trying to get a picture of one in my garden without success.
