The Swineham Red-Spotted Bluethroat showed briefly this morning at 9:49. My second lifer this week after seeing the Forster's Tern on Brownsea Lagoon on Friday. Dorset seems to have some pretty good birds! @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

Nice to walk out from home today while I had a bit of free time. The two Bonaparte's Gulls were showing really well at Lynch Cove. The 3cy bird was a new plumage for me. Very instructive in flight too.
Today we ringed what is possibly the first Nightingale of the year to be ringed in the UK at a site near Ipswich. There has been an influx of males heard singing across Suffolk this week, the start of what will hopefully be a successful breeding season for the species.
