Walk across to Cornard Mere where Chiffchaffs abound, Blackcap singing and 3 Cettis exploding. Astonishingly a Marsh Harrier hunting over the Mere. When we first saw these in Norfolk there were only a handful of birds, now I’ve seen one less than a mile away #suffolkbirds

A very elusive and distant Wheatear.
Well, there were migrants at Cavenham, distant, invisible and fleeting.
Wheatear at half a mile, unseen singing Willow Warbler and 2 fly-through Sand Martins.
At least it’s a start.

Distant pair of displaying Ravens in the murk.
Distant singing Woodlark in the murk.
A singing Mistle Thrush y’day, was noteworthy, 3 chasing each other around the garden today.
Later @rspb.bsky.social Lakenheath a calling Curlew was NFY.
Later still, no sign of the local Stone Curlew again, but 1, maybe 2 prs of Goshawk, a pr Ravens and singing Woodlarks were good.

Peregrine on its favoured spot. Sitting on a Gargoyle’s head.
The local Pigeons are not keen on settling on the Church when one of the Peregrines is up there.
A couple of old friends popped up today. The Water Rail in the millstream, that has been MIA for over a month, and one of the Peregrines on the church, that I’ve not seen for a week or two. It was keeping the local Feral Pigeons on their toes.

It was good to see the Hume's Warbler at Lowestoft on 14/2/26. It gave brief views in the morning, and then wasn’t seen for a few hours: I relocated it early afternoon, in the north-east corner of Sparrow's Nest Gardens, where it showed very well.

Also a little drive out of town, and some Bewick’s Swans with Whooper Swans, though most were too distant to differentiate. Possibly only my 2nd sighting in my 10K⭕️
