Indeed, most Nt-acetylation events occur co-translationally in eukaryotes. Likely to assure an immediate and proper protein maturation, incl. folding, targeting & protection from Ubiquitin E3s. Also post-translational Nt-acetylation: actin (NAA80), transmembrane proteins (NAA60),++ & more to come🤓
