The Age of Twilight by sanderson & sanderson on hearthis.at | gramophonics, Sutton Hoo, red deer rut, Wuffingas, Soundscap

The Age of Twilight - an incidental soundscape by sanderson & sanderson, which I helped out with. The piece is inspired by the landscape of Sutton Hoo and Wuffinga-land, and features field recordings of a red deer rut on Westleton Heath.

The blink of an eye, the beat of a heart Listen to The blink of an eye, the beat of a heart by Jack Heathen #np on #SoundCloud

The autumnal equinox is one of the melancholic corners of the year - the summer’s over, the nights are getting longer, and the beer’s getting darker - and there’s sense of time slipping away. This is a piece I recorded a few years about how we mark out the passing of time over the span of our lives.

Castlerigg Stone Circle in the Lake District, photographed using a 1953 Elioflex camera. The site probably served a religious and social function - a high place to be nearer to the old gods perhaps, and also close to a neolithic axe factory.
