Today Y4/3 began their 'City at Night' paintings. We started by drawing the buildings and adding colourful lights with oil pastels. We will use a wax resist technique to make the lights stand out. We can't wait to see the finished results ! #ArtatWelbeck

Inspired by the work of African artist Edward Tingatinga, Year 3 have been creating ‘Tingatinga’ paintings of African animals. 🐘🐆🦓🦒 Using our observation skills, we sketched our animals before painting them with bright colours and contrasting spots. We’re very proud of the results!

As part of our Africa topic, Year 3 have enjoyed doing some African art this week. We observed some real African masks before drawing our own, including symmetrical geometric shapes and repeating patterns. We then used oil pastels to add bright colours. #ArtatWelbeck
