Today Y4/3 completed their art work in the style of Hundertwasser, a famous Austrian artist. We created our own colourful, magical landscapes using oil pastels and watercolour paints.

Today Y4/3 began their 'City at Night' paintings. We started by drawing the buildings and adding colourful lights with oil pastels. We will use a wax resist technique to make the lights stand out. We can't wait to see the finished results ! #ArtatWelbeck

Year 3 have been hard at work creating some eye-catching designs for the @liliangreenwood.bsky.social Christmas Card competition. Inspired by the work of African artist Edward Tingatinga, Year 3 have been creating ‘Tingatinga’ paintings of African animals. 🐘🐆🦓🦒 Using our observation skills, we sketched our animals before painting them with bright colours and contrasting spots. We’re very proud of the results!

In Art today, Year 5 created silhouettes of themselves, just like people did in Victorian times. They had to be precise so each silhouette was recognisable as them! #ArtatWelbeck #DTatWelbeck

As part of our Africa topic, Year 3 have enjoyed doing some African art this week. We observed some real African masks before drawing our own, including symmetrical geometric shapes and repeating patterns. We then used oil pastels to add bright colours. #ArtatWelbeck
