The day a great queen awakened in the rice fields.
Fresh from hibernation, still a little drowsy.
From this single queen, a colony will grow by autumn.
Each being simply lives out its nature, sharing this world.

This song is both a tribute to wetlands near where I live, and a response to hearing about Ed Yong's "Spoonbill Club," a birding group for people living with long covid:

SlenderWolf In With the In Crowd

Chapter 11
It’s Just Not Cricket

“Seligman?”

“He was a Harvard professor!”

•	“If you want to be happy for an hour, get drunk!”
•	“If you want to be happy for a while, get married!”
•	“If you want to be happy for a lifetime, get a nice garden! With a water feature if you can.”

“Seligman was talking about ‘biophilia’, an innate tendency of human beings to seek connections with nature and with wildlife. Humans like nature, and greenery. Running water, birds, butterflies. And fish, and small furry animals. And the more we experience this, the happier and more productive we are. The whole of Wolfland is our beautiful garden, and it’s on our doorstep!”

“We’re going to connect with all of the wolves today. They will connect with us, I’m sure. You’ll have to stay calm and follow my advice. They do a lot of non verbal comms. The first thing they will want to do is smell us.

A watercolour painting of an attractive young girl aged 17. She has beautiful long straight deep brown hair and her eyes are chestnut coloured. Her face has a gentle expression with a hint of a smile. She is wearing a plain white T shirt (and blue jeans out of shot). The image is labelled KristalClear (an animal lover, she is demi-psychic, but struggles with reading the minds of humans).

Ever feel a deep pull towards nature? The biophilia hypothesis argues it’s innate—humans are hardwired to connect with life and the natural world. This idea shapes modern debates on urban design, mental health, and conservation. #Biophilia #NatureConnection #Ecology (Q864663)
