This is a painting I made called Ljubljana. I had taken a picture when the sun hit a certain way. The original looked like a black-and-white picture with sepia tone. The picture was taken from a bridge. A light blue passenger bridge is on the other side. A building with a dark window is behind that and can be seen underneath the bridge. Blue water lapses between the person with a bright red top seen from the back in the boat. A building is to the left with a rough exterior. And for that, I used a medium that has a pumice quality. The water has a lot of reflections, colors from the bridge from the brick wall, like purple and yellow orange. The water, however, is predominantly blue like lapis and cobalt blue. The boater looks to be in a gondola without any passengers, as if just out to float by himself. The skin tone is dark. The boater wears a white hat. Upon further thought, I think this location is in Škofja Loka. Also in Slovenia, the same general area.

Whalley Viaduct in #Lancashire has 48 arches. It is 620m long and 21.3m above the River Ribble. It's magnificent!
