a collage of images captures "Circles in the Sand," a series of large-scale sand labyrinths created by artist Denny Dyke in Bandon, Oregon. These intricate designs are raked into the sand during low tide, creating walkable paths for meditation and reflection. The project, started by Dyke in 2011, frequently features a blue glass sphere known as the "Dream Sphere" as a focal point. The ephemeral art lasts only a few hours before being erased by the incoming tide. The event draws thousands of visitors annually to Face Rock Wayside to walk the paths, which have no dead ends.

a large Circles in the Sand labyrinth with intricate designs and artwork on the beach in Bandon. Creating the labyrinths usually starts about two hours before the scheduled Walk time and will be walkable for two hours or more depending on the returning tide.

For my Southern Oregon friends: last Circles in the Sand event here in Bandon for 2025 coming up. If you miss it, you will have to wait until April 2026!
