A young rosebud is on the verge of blooming. The petals remain curled within the bud, but the tip is already opening to reveal its beautiful inner life to the world. The bud is in focus, while some petals beneath are depicted out of focus, appearing in a rich dark green. The background hints at a very blurred tree trunk, with a small glimpse of the blue evening sky shimmering through.
At the end of August, the climbing rose captures the evening sun, with its last rays falling into the garden.

Just now bursting out in bloom, dependable old #ClimbingRose #RoyalSunset, a #HybridTeaRose developed by Dr Dennison Morey in 1960. Fragrant, apricot colored, carefree, but very hard to find. This rose plant is about 35 years old.
