I took this picture in November 2024 in Asheville, NC. I'm standing on the shoulder of one of the roads that goes alongside the French Broad River. Starting at upper left, a concrete bridge covered in graffiti stretches to the other river bank. Narrow archways under the bridge are clogged with massive amounts of debris from Hurricane Helene. Lots of smashed pieces of wood, plastic, outdoor furniture, as well as tires and all kinds of miscellaneous trash float on the water with no where else to go. It all waits for human intervention in order to be disposed of properly.
