So the last few days are upon us, and from now on there's two stages behind each door! Day 22 of #NWECPAdvent takes us from #Tarleton to #Crossens on stage 22 of the guidebook, completing the #RibbleEstuary; and #Crossens to #Formby on stage 23; all via @rspbengland's #HeskethOutMarsh reserve... 1/2
Another thoroughly enjoyable day #birding the ๐@RSPB_Ribble #Marshside & #HeskethOutMarsh. Migrant & breeding birds aplenty. Highlights being 5 #CurlewSandpiper, 2 #LittleStint, #WoodSandpiper, #Garganey & #Spoonbill (โ found by a delighted eagle-eyed 8 year old @Aneeshwar_K!).
Another nice day birding @RSPB_Ribble. At least 14 Curlew Sandpipers (13 juv, 1 ad) at #HeskethOutMarsh counted on the camera as a pesky juvenile Peregrine flushed the three-figure flock of small #waders before I could grill them. ๐ค
What August is all about. Juvenile #waders. Few more stunning than a Wood Sandpiper. One of three at #HeskethOutMarsh East this evening. Saline lagoons are looking mega at the moment. More joy to come here before the autumn is out I suspect..... @RSPB_Ribble @DarbyBug
Hey @Brother_UK. Promised I'd let you know if the birds responded. Well we have an Arctic Tern sat on a nest on your cockle shell plots at @RSPB_N_England #HeskethOutMarsh. ๐
