A friend gifted me a crap ton of vintage homespun so I started a new quilt today. I think I have enough of the pink and blue to turn this into a kin size quilt for my bed. Thinking of trying a summer quilt with no batting.
Has anyone else tried that? Any advice?

A closer look at the two ply yarn. Indigo blue yarn shows the twist and halo of the yarn well.
Pretty happy with my first big spin. I finally got around to soaking and thwacking all that I've spun. I think I put off that part thinking it was a "chore" but it might be my favorite part of the process. So exciting to see and use yarn I made on a drop spindle. 🧶 #FiberArts #Yarn #Homespun 🐑 #Wool

Currently #researching NH #homespun #handwoven #linen at the #WoodmanMuseum #DoverNH lPictured are linen sheets woven by Eunice Pinkham & sewn by her daughter, Phoebe between 1810-45. They are in good condition, finely woven. Thank you to the Museum staff.

There is a hole at the front where something got to it (either weak thread - I had to throw out the rest of that ball of yarn as it broke every meter, a cat, or moths), so it’ll need darning immediately.
Doing #The100DayProject to replace some of my disintegrating clothing - allowed after 15-25 years.
So slowly working on garments and undergarments every day.
Currently #knitting a pair of #homespun socks, and a jumper. And there’s a mountain of #sewing and repairing.

But first, I had to spin the wool.
Before that, I had to raise the sheep.
Next I have to sell it. So I can fund raising the sheep. So I can spin more yarn. So I can knit more sweaters.
