#Wildlfowers, #sunflowers, and all the insects that come with them are darn important! Look where I found this #MONARCHWAYSTATION - at the Capitol Drive #OutpostNaturalFoodsCoOp! And lucky me, I had an @omsystem.bsky.social #OMSystemTG7 with me!
Day 2 of reared wild monarch releases from the 5 year moth-balled (because no one showed up to breed) from Elf & Dragon Wildlife Refuge & Monarch Respite #monarchwaystation. 😁🥰 #becurious #natureiscool #getoutside #monarchbutterfly
Our first #monarch eclosure and release of the season. It has been a slow start this year which is concerning since this #butterfly is now endangered. Planting #milkweed and other #nativeplants will help these beauties recover. #monarchwaystation #monarchbutterfly #pollinatorgarden
I love when two #milkweed leaves grow together into one big heart. 💚 It's making an extra large meal for this #monarchcaterpillar. This fat cat was hatched from one of the eggs in an earlier post. Almost ready to pupate!

#seniorsunday Kitty has always enjoyed gardening and is happy to be installing a #monarchwaystation for #BTW!
Here are some gardening pics past and present
Cute tiny baby green plants in a bed of mulch.
Some of my native milkweed (Zizotes milkweed—Asclepius oenotheoides) is coming back! I needed this today. #wildlifehabitat #monarchwaystation
Making progress on our Monarch Waystation.🙌🏼Removing landscape fabric made from polypropylene/petroleum, that breaks down into microplastics, pollutes soil, leaches chemicals, including BPA.❌ Consider using cardboard instead.💚🌎

#ClimateChange means I have a confused garden. Warm weather plants are fruiting before cool weather plants and other abnormalities….At least I have plenty of food for pollinators and wildlife visiting my #UrbanHomestead, also a #CertifiedWildlifeHabitat and #MonarchWaystation.

Did you know a Monarch Caterpillar is an eating machine that increases its weight 3,000 times in 20 days, doubling in size about every 12 hours.

Photo of a white sage plant in my garden. Water droplets are on the leaves.
I saw a Monarch yesterday & that's bad.
So not only are plants not getting their period of rest... the migration patterns are again in flux.

Colorful groupings of native perennials bounce the eye through this planting to the large arbor beyond. Bright yellow 'Golden Fleece' Dwarf Goldenrod in the foreground, purple 'Iron Butterfly' behind, framing a well done sign reading "Monarch Butterfly Waystation" with two artistic orange monarch butterflies framing the text; a sign that is meant to be there a while, lol, with two rather large supports making it a focal point in the garden.
I felt it was important to not skimp when it came to the signage of this #monarchwaystation #nativeplant garden. Good signage will be one of the keys moving forward, if I have any hopes of gaining more public support for these diverse perennial gardens.
