A lone bird is perched at the top of a bare tree and singing its little heart out. A leaden sky softens the lighting but provides enough for a nice silhouette.

This is from the archive. A lone Whimbel stands in perfect profile in a shallow spot in the marsh at sunset. I love the long, downward-curved beak (not quite long enough for a Curlew). The setting sun reflects brilliantly off of small ripples in the water’s surface, creating a jewel-like effect.

Two White Ibises are cropped from a larger group (gaggle?). The ibises in the foreground is floofed a bit and looks quite romantic (to me). The rear ibis is in softer (Ingrid Bergman in ‘Casablanca’) focus, but has a more restrained posture. Needless to say, I have wildly over-anthropomorphized what was really going on in this photo. Thanks for bearing with me!
