Story of my life. #premox strikes again. These #Bordeaux whites from #Medoc #Pauillac and #SaintEmilion are all oxidized. The Petit Cheval is the colour of Yquem (perhaps because they share an owner, lol). They are all undrinkable. Even the Diam cork could not save Chevalier.

This @Cos_dEstournel blanc 2016 is lovely. Notes of green apple, yellow fruit, peach, lemongrass and smoke. Good acidity. Quite long. The #Semillon adds a touch of roundness to the dominant #Sauvignon blanc. #Medoc #Bordeaux #wine
Bought this @ChateauPalmer 1995 EP for $65 and kept it cellared at 12C. Currently in its sweet spot. 12.5%ABV. Forest floor, truffle tertiary fragrance, wet tea leaves, dark chocolate red berries, cassis and cedar. Very elegant and delicate. #Bordeaux #Margaux #wine #Medoc

Mature (sort of) white #Bordeaux can be lovely when it’s not oxidized. Both very good but @D_de_Chevalier seems fresher. Maybe its the Diam 30 cork over the regular cork. Beautiful citrus flavours and quite long. Very fine. #Medoc #wine #Sauvignon blanc #Semillon
Chateau Tour Saint Joseph Cru Bourgeois Haut Médoc 2012, Bordeaux, France It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back! Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Beautiful nose of black currants, plums, rhubarb, cooked cherries, light wood, spices, dark chocolates, black pepper and licorice. Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, oak, spices, chocolates, tobacco leaf, coffee, licorice, peppercorn, earth and herbs. Short finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries. This 13 year old Merlot based blend from Bordeaux is still drinking nicely, although will not last long. Easy drinking and complex. Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes of airtime. I really enjoyed the nose once it opened up. A good food wine that paired nicely with the charcuterie board. A blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. 12.5% alcohol by volume. 90 points. $25 (current vintage).
