Found myself watching #MoonEmbracingtheSun last night; 1 of 5 #Kdramas I watch again & again, the others being #TheKingEternalMonarch (my entry drug), #Healer, #WTwoWorlds & #AlchemyofSouls. The Moon&Sun leads never stop crying in a fortune fall of fake tears, but I find it moving every time.

For anyone interested in an analysis of Korean (and Japanese) shamanism as it relates to the Korean movie #Exhuma (and for that matter #kdramas like #Revenant & #MoonEmbracingtheSun), this is a terrific (& terrifying!) thread

I have yet to see the movie (unfortunately), but 2 questions that come to mind:

do you know if the character Yeon-woo in #MoonEmbracingtheSun was also a Mudan (when she was called Wol)?

Yeon Woo only becomes queen at the end of #MoonEmbracingtheSun (and Han Ga In is unfortunately not the strongest actress), but the story of her transformation from high-born daughter & potential princess, to shaman, then to queen, is an intriguing character arc despite everything!

My favourite sageuk is #MoonEmbracingtheSun. Even though the adult fl’s character was slightly underwhelming after her portrayal as a young girl (a great cameo by Kim You Jung), the drama as a whole held together well, & there was a fun relationship between Kim Soo Hyun’s ml & his friendly eunuch.
