Defects of the fairies Concentrated study Subtle and profound intellect and yet so innocent. An imposter Introduced him to Spirits who beguiled him With angels an Intervention And a partnership was established He Was much Hated as a wizard he still supported The Magnificent library. Weary of impostors but remaining blindly loyal to spirits though Sometimes the angels Went too far It did no good to Be largely vindicated.

A rose is a rose, from seed to bloom,
its essence more than mere perfume.
Within each pistel endless potential;
the rose is royalty consumed.

Text (written center-aligned, with the latter half of the lines arranged so the words outline a splodge in the negative space between them) --- Nature Poem I sat beneath an old, tall tree (a yew, I believe), and listened to the chorus of the birds, their loud, primordial poetry: the laughing trochees of the great tit, the wood pigeon’s wheezing spondees, the lilting dactyls of the blackbird, the robin’s belligerent free verse but then one of the little feathered bastards shat on the page. So I guess I’ll write about flowers instead.
Sometimes a poem falls in your lap (or in this case on my notebook).

My Brain has a Moment By S. Reeson and all the good work is instantly forgotten books are being banned years of notes are burning and it is time to start again the pile of dirty washing was an omen I forgot to eat again and in the car park a failed creative is now crying because all they want it seems are lies writing mental health allusions that fit their definition of conclusion that sparkle with hollow definition that performative delusion matters but it never will my brain has been having these moments since the dawn of time and to those hiding their over-picked fingernails and scars who have come late to the neurodivergent party I remind you of the constants that you can rely on to survive you are a future often written awkwardly this never devalues a perfect opportunity go indulge every creative avenue for no-one else will feel this fiercely this honesty this untainted truth that you alone are witness to observe
#NaPoWriMo Day 19.
Yes, I wrote this in an hour. No, I have no qualms about posting it. Yes, some work needs polish. No, this #poem doesn’t. This poem needs to scream in the middle of a field until all the anger has left it. Then, maybe, it can move forward.
A blue square with an illustration of a living room along the bottom, featuring a sofa, a coffee table, a plant, lamp, and a painting. Along the top of the square text reads NaPoWriMo 2026. Beneath this a text box reads “Choose a piece of furniture in your house. What does it look like? What has it seen? Held? Overheard? Where would it go, if it could? What does it think of you, its owner? Writing as the piece of furniture, answer these questions in a poem.” Beneath this and to the right is the name Freya Gillard. To the left is a black spiky circle with the words Prompt 19 overlaid in white.
#NaPoWriMo prompt 19 comes from Poetry Society member Freya Gillard. She enjoys very human things like breathing and eating the foods. In fact, her favorite foods is sauce. Dim Sum Palace, her debut picture book, received a starred review from Booklist and is the winner of the 2023 Society of Illustrators' Dilys Evans Founder's Award. Born on the Earth planet in the Milky Way Galaxy in a land called Taiwan, and raised in the American state of Georgia, she now lives in a strange and mysterious place called Maine with her human husband and a canine companion named Pamela.
My resulting poem reads: FINITE midnight crashed and was immediate whispering trees describe the dark night happily somewhat odd something unique a little party dancing moving fun conversations and time disappeared among the stars.

Apple Music cover art for the song Plaisir d'amour by Nana Mouskouri with a picture of a woman in glasses and the text: Vieilles chansons de France Nana Mouskouri
Today's REAL poem is titled Heartache lasts a lifetime
Inspired by the song Plaisir d'amour by Nana Mouskouri
Which supposedly also inspired Elvis' song Can't help falling in love.
I saw it on the interwebz so it must be true, right? #poetry #napowrimo #songs

A white square with a big green speech bubble in the centre. The bubble is coming from the name Will Rene, in the bottom left hand corner. Black text along the top reads NaPoWriMo 2026. The text inside the bubble reads “Record yourself having a conversation with a friend. Listen back and phonetically transcribe all of the unintentional sounds you’ve both made - coughs, laughs, sighs, etc - leaving out any coherent words. You’ll be left with a performance score for a strange and wonderful sound poem.” A small green speech bubble in the bottom right hand corner reads Prompt 18.
Will Rene is representing the National Poetry Library at the Free Verse Fair. Come along and see what kind of conversations you'll have with guests, panellists, and poets! Sign up for a FREE ticket in our bio, and be in with a chance of winning £50 to spend on poetry books at the fair. #NaPoWriMo
