Devil's Doorway is a rock formation that appears to form a stone doorway or an arch. At the right are two thick columns of quartzite. The rock appears to be a light pink throughout, with some grey. There are large rocks atop both columns and rocks lodged between the tops of the two, which forms the arch. The rock on the top of the column at left appears to be precariously balanced and is standing vertical. The columns are about 30 feet high and stand close to 500 feet above Devil's Lake, which can be seen through the trees at the left. To the left of the two columns is another smaller column, maybe 10 or 12 feet high. Behind Devil's Doorway are trees and behind the lake at the left is another hill rising up from the lake and also covered with green trees.
