Variable Nomad Bee (Nomada zonata)
This is cuckoo bee, meaning they are kleptoparasites. The female lays her eggs in the nests of other host bees, Andrena flavipes (Yellow-legged Mining Bee) is used.

a bright yellow bee Is perched atop a cluster of tiny white yarrow flowers. It has no fluffy hairs and black markings on its body making it resemble a wasp more than a typical bee. Its mouthparts are extended down into the blossom, drinking nectar.

No fuzzy hairs as they don’t collect pollen, & instead sneak their eggs into other bees’ nests

They also typically have longer stings & body armour to protect them from host bees defending their brood

A Flavous Nomad Bee searches for the mining bee nests she parasitises among leaf litter and fallen twigs. She is a small, slender bee with a black, yellow and red striped abdomen, black thorax with dark red markings, black face with red markings, red eyes and legs, and orange antennae. The hair around her head and thorax is buff-coloured.

I was lucky enough to find this resting Nomad Bee in my garden yesterday evening. These are one of the Cuckoo Bees, laying their eggs in the nests of mining bees.

I encountered this bee on a Surrey heath earlier. Using @StevenFalk1‘s great Flickr resource, I think it might be Nomada lathburiana - reddish hairs on top of thorax. Can anyone confirm?
