I found a very nice division of Maxillaria tenuifolia. I counted two spikes but there may be more. Can't wait for the coconut-cream-pie scent.

This Phalaenopsis hybrid growing on a palm trunk is exposed to daily rain (or irrigation) followed by daily droughts. It survives by having thick, leathery, water-storing leaves & thick roots. #Orchidaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Let’s talk epiphytes. This is Cyrtopodium punctatum, which has large pseudobulbs (swollen stems) that store water. The plant may get rain every day, but as an epiphyte without contact with the soil, it dries out quickly. It must store water to survive the daily drought. #Orchidaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Bulbophyllum cornu-cervi (big ?). It seems to have two growth points, which is sweet. the new leaf has tripled in size in the short few weeks I've had it. So far, so good. Substrate is fine for another few months but the pot needs weeding...
