Four colored-pencil drawings of prehistoric animals, arranged roughly into quadrants on a piece of paper. In the top left is the ichthyosaur Xiphodracon, with a very long and slender snout. In the top right is the generic-mammal-ever Ectoconus, leaping away from whatever ripped the tip of its tail off. In the bottom left is the early mammaliamorph Morganucodon, curled around itself as it sleeps. In the bottom right is the bilaterally-symmetric early echinoderm Atlascystis, drawn life-size at just under 1 cm wide at the front end and around 1 cm in length.

Iridescent Opabinia in colored pencil. It has five eyes, a trunk-like appendage ending in a claw, and fins down its buggy body.

Opabinia! I wasn't too sure about the colors at first, and I'm a bit rusty with colored pencils, but I like how this one turned out. Paleozoic life is fun.

Sea Pen (Charnia masoni)
An extinct and possibly one of the first described forms of complex life in the Ediacaran Period (Precambrian). Very interesting life form.

The well known trilobite, possibly the most famous arthropod of the early Cambrian.
Surprised at how diverse trilobites were with many genera!

Spent a few hours in the Cambrian and Ordovician periods of the #Paleozoic era.
However, my obsession has been stalled in the late-Hadean eon, #Eoarchean and #Archean eras. 🙄
