I FINALLY got around to reading this one on the occasion of moving into a 21-floor apartment building, because I'm weird like that.
It's one of the obvious inspirations for #ParadiseTowers; which right-thinking #DoctorWho fans are very fond of even if it's nobody's favourite.

As I said when I rewatched #ParadiseTowers, I’ve often conflated these two stories. I think the satire in the earlier story works better, although I do love Sheila Hancock as “Helen A.”
The first Cartmel season does feel like it's finding it's feet. #ParadiseTowers mostly works, and #DeltaAndTheBannermen has its moments. Things improve immensely with the next season!
#ParadiseTowers is a fun story and McCoy’s Doctor feels very dialled in compared to the previous tale. Still, for some reason I always conflate this story with #TheHappinessPatrol and thus expect Ace and the Candyman to turn up!

Overall, I don't hate Richard Briars in this final episode, but he could have toned it down just a wee bit.
I think I need to go back to my earlier note that this is a fairy tale. It doesn't need to fully make sense to get its message across and it does that well.

I really like the theme of this episode: that the various groups of residents need to work together. Compare it to the Thatcherite politics of the time and the end of society, it's making an interesting point that people need to group together.

I know Who companions can't get properly traumatised by the events they experience, but this is plain weird.
And at the end of the episode the Doctor gets grabbed and Sylv does his best Pertwee gurn. Splendid stuff!

I saw that the Live #DoctorWho channel on #Roku was promoting that they were doing a #PatrickTroughton marathon in honor of his birthday. I tuned in to discover that they were in the middle of playing #ParadiseTowers. I'm very confused.
