An outtake from the monastery portal in Schlosspark Glienicke, Berlin, and a lesson in what can go wrong when the shot presents itself at the wrong moment. The neo-Gothic archway with its Byzantine mosaic of the Regina Caeli (Queen of Heaven, MP ΘV) demanded full attention, but the lens caught an unwanted intruder: a blurred dark shape of a fence looming large in the foreground, while the entire composition drifts slightly askew, the gate leaning just a touch off-centre. The golden warm light catching the striped sandstone wall and the intricate wrought-iron lattice doors was perfectly timed, the framing, decidedly less so. A reminder that even the most photogenic doorways in Glienicke's romantic landscape don't always cooperate.
Good morning all, my first photo gone wrong for today. Have fun everyone!
