Improvements induced by retinal gene therapy with voretigene neparvovec depend on visual cortical hemispheric dominance mechanisms - Communications Medicine Ferreira, M et al. investigate the cortical response to visual function restoration in 10 patients with RPE65-RD treated with voretigene neparvovec using psychophysical and neuroimaging methods. The authors found significant improvements in light sensitivity and neural response under low luminance conditions, particularly in the right hemisphere.
