In the foreground is a 5 bar gate covered with painted and rusting corrugated iron sheeting. A hole has been cut into the sheet so it can be opened. In the background stands a bar. Probably once thatched it's now roofed with the farmer's friend - corrugated iron.

A tad late for #FarmGateFriday - but I do love a good gate & #ruralgrot is good for day.

I love the 'home' 'belt & braces' construction of this - corrugated iron fixed to a normal 5 bar gate between granite posts.

A gritting bin partially covered in lichens & moss sits on the left. Behind is a traditional Devon bank (probably hundreds of years old). Driven into the bank are fence posts at an unusual angle of 45 degrees & holding three strands of barbed wire.
