Sony a6400, Sony 70-350mm lens, 1/60s, 350mm I wasn't sure taking photos through glass would work, but it was very cold outside, and I got to sit on a comfortable couch in a warm room to take bird pics. Win/win, if you ask me. The coloring on this bird is subtle but gorgeous. A first sighting for me!

Spotted this Rusty Blackbird by a ponds edge, a preferred location for foraging. They search for food by overturning leaves & debris, just as this one was doing. Their rusty feathers fade away in the spring when they molt & take on glossy black breeding colors.
