Found throughout much of North America, wood frogs are the only frogs known to live north of the Arctic circle. Emerging from burrows, sometimes before snow melt, to breed. They often must cross busy roads to lay eggs in vernal pools (temporary water bodies). #wildlife #frogs #nature #vernalpool
