Midlife Vitamin D Levels Linked to Long-Term Brain Health A new long-term study published in Neurology Open Access suggests that the amount of vitamin D a person has in their 30s and 40s may be connected to future brain health. While the findings show a clear association, researchers caution that this does not prove vitamin D directly reduces dementia risk. The results highlight midlife as a critical period for modifying risk factors that influence brain aging. The authors note that more research is needed to confirm how vitamin D affects neural health and whether supplementation could help prevent conditions like Alzheimer’s disease in the long term.
