Mccollum Heritage 91 Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2022, Willamette Valley, Oregon Light reddish in color with medium intensity. Strong nose of red fruits with light wood, chocolates, spices, red candy and herbs. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with red currants, cherries, light earth, herbs, light wood, spices, light green tea, coffee and black pepper. Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries. This is a young Pinot Noir from Williamette Valley in Oregon. Soft and smooth. Elegant and fruit forward. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Good right out of the bottle and easy drinking. Showing nice complexity already, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $55.

Aridus Wine Company Limited Production Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Arizona Light yellow in color. Nose of citrus, red and yellow apples, pears, Mediterranean spices, light minerals and white pepper. Full-bodied with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with limes, apples, pears, melons, sea salt, light earth, herbs and spices. Long finish with lemons and light herbs. This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc from Arizona. Elegant and rich. Complex and interesting. Tangy and spicy. Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes of airtime. Better when not too cold. I've had a few vintages of this wine, and this is my favorite so far. Not a typical New World Sauvignon Blanc, which is nice to see. A great sipping wine, refreshing and easy drinking. A blend of 89% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Malvasia Bianca and 1% Muscat. 13.4% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $40.

Pale salmon in color with a peach tint. Flowery nose with strawberry jello, red candy, light herbs and apples. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Crisp and refreshing. Dry on the palate with strawberries, red cherries, red apples, light spices and light grapefruits. Tangy finish with limes and light bitter herbs. This is a very enjoyable Rosé from Mendocino County. Spicy, fruit forward and entertaining. Showing mild complexity, and a soft mouthfeel. Gets earthier as it warms up. Easy drinking and good by itself. A great pool wine, and better when properly chilled. An interesting blend of 46% Zinfandel, 37% Sangiovese and 17% Pinot Noir. 13% alcohol by volume. 88 points. $16.

Pretty color of ruby with a wide reddish rim. Light nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate and complex. Showing red cherries, currants, black plums, light oak, spices, herbs, earth, chocolates, licorice and peppercorn. Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Pauillac. Spicy and fruity. Smooth and elegant, with good structure and balance. This 10 year old still feels young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. Robert Parker 90 points. I had a few different vintages of this wine and it is very consistent, and much better with age. Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine. Will pair nicely with food too. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. Aged in (60% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points $60.

Light nose with cherries, sweet raspberries, light earth, light wood and chocolate notes. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, plums, light oak, spices, milk chocolates, light earth, herbs, tobacco leaf and black pepper. Medium plus in length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This young Russian River Pinot Noir is starting to drink very nicely. Fruit forward and elegant with a soft mouth feel. Showing nice complexity and good balance. Will continue to age nicely in the next few years. Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years and see how it evolved. Easy drinking and very approachable right out of the bottle. A good sipping wine. 14.4% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.

Thurston Wolfe Dr. Wolfe Family Red 2022, Horse Haven Hills, Washington State Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim, and medium plus intensity. Fruity nose of sweet raspberries, cherries, tobacco, light wood, herbs, spices, black pepper and chocolates. Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs. Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, licorice and peppercorn. Long tangy finish with soft tannins and raspberries. This Zinfandel/ Petite Sirah blend from Washington State is drinking very nicely right out of the bottle. Spicy and fruit forward. Juicy and elegant. Already showing nice complexity. Nicely balanced, and not cloying at all, which was a great surprise. Delivers more than its price point, and drinks like a $35 California Cabernet. Interesting stuff. Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Went really well with prosciutto, and will also pair nicely with a burger. A blend of 51% Zinfandel, 38% Petite Sirah and 11% Lemberger. Aged in French and American Oak barrels for 26 months. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $18.
