A new miner for me, likely one I've overlooked or ignored in the past. On a tall Lombardy Poplar (or maybe a hybrid Black of some sort). Aulagromyza populi gallery mines with in-situ pupae. These examples show the mine moving from the underside to upperside. #diptera #agromyzidae #panspecieslisting

Hi Rob @vc28wildlife.bsky.social
I’m thinking this might be Agromyza myosotidis, (on Pentaglottis) but the plant is low down and I can’t get a back lit shot of it. Worth recording?

Two trees with moderate infestations of Phytomyza ilicis aka Holly Leafminer (an #Agromyzidae fly) in #Epworth Turbary, a #Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve Looks like there will be plenty of flies emerging in May & June but guess a few will be parasitised #HumberheadLevels #IsleOfAxholme

Nice to see two leaf-mining #Agromyzidae flies on the same Solidago virgaurea (goldenrod) plant at the weekend. Nemorimyza posticata (blotch mine) and Ophiomyia maura (linear). Thanks to @AgromyzidaeRS for the ID on the latter
