Male Sylvia cantillans have a grey head and a beautiful reddish throat, which they use to attract females during breeding season. This small bird blends perfectly into Mediterranean shrubs, making it very hard to spot even when it's close by. During breeding season, it eats insects and spiders, but in migration periods, it may also eat berries.
