As of 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, the only Dense Fog Advisory in effect in the Northland is along the North Shore region.  That will expand to cover the remaining areas along and near Lake Superior starting at 8 p.m. Monday.  It will then expand to cover the rest of the region, minus the Upper Peninsula, starting at midnight Tuesday.  It will then run through 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025.  Visibility will be under one-quarter of a mile at times, so plan for a slower drive with more space between vehicles for your safety.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:20 p.m. on September 15, 2025, shows a line of clouds pretty much around the Highway 53 corridor from north to south.  The rest of the region is seeing very few, if any, clouds.  A cluster of showers and thunderstorms is also moving into northwest Wisconsin from the south.  There could be some gusty winds and small hail within this cluster.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the I-35 Corridor in an Enhanced Risk for severe weather for the rest of Monday, June 16, 2025.  The vast majority of the Northland is under a Slight Risk, with the regions near the Canadian border and the Upper Peninsula in a Marginal Risk.  The greatest threat from the strongest thunderstorms that will pass through the rest of Monday are hail over 2" in diameter and wind gusts over 60 mph.  A weak tornado and minor flash flooding is also possible.
