A close-up of a wing of Merodon equestris, the Narcissus bulb fly, a hover fly that resembles a bumble bee. One of the veins (or lines) in the wing has a squiggle or bend.
Seems to be present in every species of Eristalini and Merodontini I've personally observed. Not present in Milesiini or Syrphinae from what I've seen.
