A series of photos I forgot I'd taken last summer. This was the biggest Ichneumon wasp I'd seen and I watched her skip between fence posts for a while before she paused and lay her eggs, possibly in an unsuspecting larva in the wood.

A Giant Ichneumon Wasp (Megarhyssa Macrurus[?]) seen this past summer resting on a wall.
The ovipositor on this critter was massive, maybe 1.5 - 2x the length of the whole wasp. I unfortunately couldn't get the whole thing in the frame.
