The top left main image shows a square-like geometric design created with pattern blocks. At the center is an orange square surrounded by four red trapezoids and four tan rhombuses, then eight orange squares and eight green triangles. Around this center are four flower-like arrangements. Each “flower” is made by placing four yellow hexagons and four tan rhombuses around a central orange square. The images along the bottom and on the right show the progression of the design.

Use 9 different integers in a 3 by 3 grid. The numbers in the top row multiply to -312. The numbers in the middle row multiply to 63. The numbers in the bottom row multiply to -44. The numbers in the left column multiply to 396. The numbers in the middle column multiply to 91. The numbers in the right column multiply to 24. The sum of the integers in the 2 by 2 square at the top left of the grid is -5.

Pyplot figure of atmospheric CO2 data oscillating while increasing from 1958 to present. A model is well-fit to the data.

Another student sent an update on modeling the atmospheric CO_2 data, and was able to get the model:

a sin(b(x +c)) + d + ex +f x^2

to fit quite nicely.

This image shows pattern block designs arranged in a 4 by 4 grid, with the center four squares merged to highlight a larger design. It features 13 unique pattern block creations from March. The images show six double hexagons arranged around a central hexagon with six regular hexagons added to fill in the gaps between the double hexagons, completing the radial pattern.
