Film poster for Memphis Belle (1990). A group of World War II bomber crew members stand and sit together in front of a B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft named “Memphis Belle.” The aircraft’s nose art featuring a pin-up figure is visible. The sky behind them is warm and orange with clouds at sunset. The title “Memphis Belle” appears in large red script across the top of the poster above the crew.
I enjoyed this far more than the recent Masters of the Air TV series. Great cast, great characters, great story. Michael Caton-Jones is another one of those directors who seemed destined for greatness but somehow faded away.
