Photograph showing three small islands in a lake. There are golden reeds surrounding the lake, background trees and a lovely blue sky with white clouds.
Another shot of the beautiful blue sky and unseasonable weather on Christmas Day morning at North Cave Wetlands, East Yorkshire, UK.
Hope everyone had a good day!

After staying at home whilst the bad weather went past this morning. We had a cracking afternoon at #NorthCaveWetlands.

Ada and I had an amazing afternoon yesterday at #NorthCaveWetlands.
69 species. Quite a few reserve ticks (100 species for the reserve now). The highlight was the Savi's Warbler - which started calling as we were getting back to the car. It's fast becoming my favourite E Yorks reserve.

North Cave didn't disappoint. 54 species - 3 site ticks for me (Pheasant, Willow Warbler & Little Owl). Only House Martin was nfy though.
It's a beautiful site, and only going to get better with all the work going into it. Can't wait for the new hide to open.

Cracking afternoon at #NorthCaveWetlands yesterday. 57 birds, a few new for the year, 2 new Yorkshire ticks for me (Egyptian Goose and Black-throated Diver).
But most importantly (to Ada), some cracking cake from the Butty Bus!

Had an hour or so at #NorthCaveWetlands today. 40 odd species, ticking off a few of my top "targets" (according to Bubo)
Highlights definitely the Brambling, a flushed Water Rail and in Ada's opinion, the Rasberry Ripple Cake from the sandwich van!
